I believe that a professional photographer should be able to shoot just about anything well. No matter the genre, it is all about seeing the light, capturing the moment, and telling a story. I do environmental and studio portraiture, journalism, senior portraits, head shots, architectural and corporate work, events (yes, including engagements and weddings), and of course landscapes of Vermont’s wild places. My style tends to the journalistic.
My work has been published in Russian Life, Haute Living, Vermont Life, Seven Days, California Wine and Travel, GB Opera Magazine, Forbes.com, California Home Design, Robb Report, Hidden Europe, LA Daily News, Arts Beat LA, the Barre Montpelier Times-Argus, the San Francisco Chronicle/SFgate.com, and the prestigous Vermont Life Calendars, among others. Select images are available as fine art prints, or as limited-edition notecard sets.
Elise Annes/ Vermont Land Trust
I recommend Paul E. Richardson as a professional photographer. Paul worked for our non-profit on an outdoor and barn photo shoot and we used his photos for the web, a fundraising case statement and with media relations. His work is aesthetically excellent and he is flexible and easy to work with. We receive many compliments on the pieces where his work appears. We look forward to using his photos and hiring him in the future.
My experience with Paul in January 2017 was amazing! Besides great shots of our event, he was very responsive, open and creative! He knows the best locations in Montpelier, and his sense of occasion helped us capture very special moments. We are very grateful that Paul was our photographer.
Trish Wolf Brubeck/ Brubeck Brothers Quartet
It's not easy to catch the spirit of the band during soundcheck and to have each member of the quartet look good in a group photo, but Paul did both, with some amazingly beautiful backgrounds of the Vermont field and mountains. Paul has a great eye, and is very talented not only at shooting his subjects, but also at capturing the right light. I would not hesitate to use Paul's talents again and again.
